Closing Doors

Have you ever been in a situation where things where going smooth one day then all the sudden the rug is ripped out from under you, the door slammed right in your face, no warning, just abruptly lost, your structure and stability shattered. You feel hopeless, full of fear and anxiety, despair, you're vulnerable, broken and defeated.

You may of lost a job you assumed you’d retire from, have to move from the house you called home for the past ten years cause the landlord wants to sell, maybe your high school sweetheart, the man you planned to grow old with ask for a divorce, or the body you’ve taken care of all these years is weakened from a chronic illness. Nevertheless doors got shut. Now you’re forced to find a new path, a new way and there isn’t anything you can do about it other than have faith it will all work out. Amazingly we evolve and adapt quite well, you just have to learn to let go. Stop holding onto things that are no longer yours, don’t fight the current just ride it out, you maybe surprised at where you’ll end up.

Too often we fight things that’s not our to fight in the first place, we try so hard to control something that’s truly out of our control. We have to learn to roll with the punches, that’s just life. Be content with where, what and who the universe lines you up with, understanding nothing is forever and grateful for the present moment of here and now. When one door shuts, another door will open. Be open minded and see what new blessing you may discover on this new path. Everything works itself out one way or another. Keep faith.
