Committed Decisions

What you succeed in, the goals you reach, the places you go, how you show up, what drives you, and what you do with the life you live is all based around decisions you make. You decide to be lazy and non productive, or you decide to excel and succeed, you decide to be healthy or out of shape, you decide to stay in toxic relationships or find your happily ever after, you decide to overcome and conquer obstacles or lay down and submit. Life is full of possibilities and it’s your decision to find them or not.

You tell yourself you’ll never reach your goals or never be happy because unfortunately that’s not the life you where given. You’re black, or a woman, you’re gay, you where born into poverty, you are damaged and broken from the abuse you suffered, the trauma you endured, you’re too big or too small, you’re oppressed, you’re not privileged….. the list goes on and on, those are just conditions and they do not define you, the decisions you make do. You decide to overcome, to give up, or to prevail.

Elon Musk was bullied endlessly in school was even beaten so bad he was hospitalized and suffers from depression yet he decided to believe in his self and is now one of the richest men in the world. Look at Nick Vujicic he was born without arms and legs now a sought after motivational speaker best selling author “Life without limits” all because he refused to give up on his dreams. Bethany Hamilton is a surfer who got her arm bit off by a shark yet she continued to surf and went pro. Jk Rowling came from poverty and abuse to becoming one of the most successful writers in history with her Harry Potter books. Oprah Winfrey is a black woman born is Mississippi that endured abuse and neglect yet she built her own media empire and book club. Jim Carrey dropped out of school at 15 to support his family now he’s a famous actor and comedian. Walt Disney was fired from Kansas City star newspaper because he lacked imagination and creativity now he has Disney world.

Your conditions don’t define you, your committed decisions do. What are you going to decide to do with your life?

Making decisions is like a muscle, the more you use it the stronger it will become. Stop saying I should do xyz., simply decide and commit to doing it and do it. The pathway may not be easy, you may encounter roadblocks or bumps along the way, don’t give up, remember you are committed to this decision. Find a way and if you can’t then make a way. Decide to be happy, decide to succeed, decide to overcome, decide to chase your dreams, decide to live your best life. The choice is yours
