Do what you love!

They say if you do what you love you’ll never work a day in your life. Are you? Are you doing what you love or are you just grinding away at your 9-5 to put food on the table. Do you solely work and have the job you have just so you have a roof over you and your families head? Do you dread work, dealing with your colleagues or the product or service you provide? Do you hate clocking in or are you excited to show up? Does your work line up with your passion? Do you feel your talent and skills are utilized in your employment? Does your job help you serve your life purpose? I get it we all have bills and taxes to pay, but have you ever considered pursuing something you truly enjoy to pay those bills?

What about your relationships? Do you love being around the people in your life? Does your spouse give you butterflies or make you feel safe, beautiful, loved, wanted, seen or do you just coexist for the sake of the kids? What about your friends are they great listeners and always in your corner cheering you on through life, do y’all go on hikes or go get lunch and laugh til your belly hurts or are you more like acquaintances just friends because your kids are friends? What about your family relationships are you bonded through blood and that’s it? Do you just tolerate one another because you have to, only see each other for holidays nothing else? Is there drama, gossip and tension or do you talk every day, know everything going on in each others life and love everything about them?

Do some soul searching and truly analyze your life. The concept “do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life” applies to all areas of your life. Mend your broken dreams by finally choosing to chase them, pursue people that shine light into your life, stop just coexisting live passionately and purposefully. Do what makes you happy, be around people that make you happy, go places that make you happy. Stop settling. People continue to hurt you because you allow it, they take advantage of you because you allow it, they pull you down with them because you allow it, stop allowing shit in your life. Be accountable for yourself, work on your flaws, own them and then address what needs to be addressed. You are the captain to your own ship, sail away and start living your best life doing what you love.
